Clayton Woodrow Norwood, age 84, of Del Rio, entered into eternal life Monday, September 20, 1999. He received an honorable discharge from the US Army on September 23, 1945, serving with Company B 44th Armored Infantry. He was a sgt. tank commander with campaigns included invasion of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe, and served with Indian Head Division 741st Tank Battalion in the Ardennes Mountains. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with five bronze stars and an oak leaf, distinguished unit citation cluster, good conduct ribbon, purple heart, being wounded in Belgium December 21, 1944.
